From the studio
Every series begins with a notebook. Dates, quotations, material tests, cut-and-pasted ears and tags… The notebooks make visible the reading and research behind the works.

Texts by Gary L. Francione and Peter Singer on the sentience and moral status of animals; the dates of mass killings of animals; the material histories of soap, leather and wool. The notebook pages are the draft of the line that runs from 'The Legitimacy of Domination' to 'İnsansı'.

On one page, a tag tied with a red ribbon that reads 'NAGEHAN': giving a name to a nameless number. On another, soap blocks and notes on the history of soap.

Collage: Forms of Domination
An extension of the notebook work, the collage series 'Forms of Domination' cuts up and re-assembles forms of exploitation normalised as entertainment — horse racing among them: 'QUESTION'.
